Moong Dal Dosa

Moong Dal Dosa or pesrattu is a popular breakfast dish of Andhra Pradesh. You don’t have to keep it for fermenting like the normal dosa after grinding. Using the whole moong dal creates air pocket in the batter. It goes well with coconut chutney or inchy curry. With the  amount given here you can make 12 dosas.

Ingredients

  • Whole moong dal- 1 cup
  • White rice- ½ cup
  • Ginger (chopped)-1tsp.
  • Green chilies-2
  • Shallots -2
  • Cumin -1/2 tsp.
  • Salt to taste

Method

  • Wash and soak moong dal for 6-8 hours and rice for atleast 2 hours.

  • Grind it to a dosa consistency batter by adding the rest of the ingredients

  • Heat a well  greased  tava and pour a ladle of the batter and evenly spread it out.

  • Cover it and cook( pour ¼ tsp of gingely oil in between).

Note:- Sprinkle some water on the tava after taking out the dosa , as the tava gets over heated and the next dosa will be thicker
