Fruit Salad

When we think about fruit salad the first thing which comes into our mind is different type of colorful and vibrant fruits in a bowl which is served with custard.  It is tasty as such but a few tricks can bring wonders to this dessert.



Ingredients
 


• Orange- 6-8
• Apple-3
• Seedless grapes-2 handful
• Mango-2
• Banana-4
• Almonds -a handful
• Honey-4tbsp.
• Mixed fruit juice- 3/4 cup
• Jelly -1 small packet
• Corn flour -2tbsp
• Milk -1litre
• Egg beaten 2
• Sugar -1/2cup
• Vanilla essence-1tsp
• Cherries to garnish
• A handful of chopped mint leaves

Method

• Soak the almonds in water for half an hour and remove the skin and chop into small pieces.
• Peel orange remove the seeds and cut each wedges to 2 or 3 pieces
• Peel the apples, bananas and mangoes and cut into the size of orange pieces.
• In a glass bowl put all the cut fruits and cleaned grapes and almonds and pour the mixed fruit juice and honey and mix well and keep it aside.
• Make  jelly according to the instructions given on the packet and keep it in the fridge to set.
• Add a little water to the corn flour and mix it with the milk and add the beaten egg and sugar.
• Transfer the milk mixture to a sauce pan.
• Boil water in big wide vessel (it should be lesser than the height of the sauce pan) and place the sauce pan in the vessel and stir till the custard is thick enough.
• Cut the jelly into small cubes and mix it with the fruits along with the chopped mint leaves.
• In a serving bowl take 2or 3scoops of soaked fruits and top it with 2scoops of custard.
• You can also garnish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (optional). And place the cherry on top.

Note:-while cleaning the grapes put it in water with a table spoon of salt for half an hour and then wash it in running water to remove any pesticide.
