Easy pepper chicken
Pepper chicken recipe
Ingredients
- Chicken cleaned and cut into medium sized pieces- 1 kg
- Onion ( large) sliced thinely - 2
- Ginger chopped - 2 tsp.
- Garlic chopped - 2 tsp.
- Kashmiri chili powder - 1 1/2 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp.
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp.
- Malabar tamarind soaked in water- 3 small pieces
- Coconut oil- 1 tbsp.
- Salt to taste
- Curry leaves and red chilies for garnish
Method
- Grind ginger, garlic , chili powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder and enough salt into a fine paste. You can use half a cup of water after grinding it for 30 seconds.
- Marinate the chicken pieces with the ground masala and keep aside for half an hour.
- Meanwhile Microwave the sliced onion for 5 minutes. Heat oil in a pan, add the cooked onions and saute till light brown.
- Add the chicken pieces and malabar tamarind and cook the chicken.
- Remove the tamarind pieces add curry leaves and red chilies and dry roast it till the masalas are well coated on the chicken pieces and it deepens its color.
- Transfer it to a serving plate and enjoy!
