Atta Cookies
No eggs are used to make these cookies, it is crunchy and
tasty. Kids will love this cookie. Why to buy it when you can easily make it at
home using very few ingredients. The given amount will give you almost 25
cookies. It has a shelf life of about 2 weeks.
You can keep it in fridge, if it stays for a month. You can use vanilla
essence or cardamom powder, or you can divide the dough into two and add
vanilla to one and cardamom to the other. You can also decorate the cookies
with nuts of your choice.
Ingredients
- Atta (whole wheat flour)- 1 ¼ cup
- Baking powder- 1 tsp.
- Salt – ¼ tsp.
- Butter – 100 g
- Sugar – ½ cup
- Milk as required to make the dough
- Vanilla essence/ cardamom powder- 1 tsp.
- Nuts to decorate the cookies
Method
- Take Atta in a big glass bowl, add baking powder and salt and whisk using a manual egg beater until it is mixed well.
- Slice the butter into small cubes and rub it into the Atta till u get a bread crumb consistency.
- Add vanilla essence or cardamom powder.
- Add milk one tea spoon at a time to get a smooth dough.
- Roll it using a rolling pin to almost half centimeter thickness and cut cookies using cookie cutter.
- Decorate the cookies with nuts if desired and arrange it on a greased baking sheet leaving a centimeter space between the cookies.
- Bake it in a 180-degree Celsius preheated oven at about 25 minutes.
