Oatmeal banana pear almond bake


This easy healthy dish is ideal for breakfast or for a week end brunch. The given amount is good enough for four servings.  Use whole grain rolled oats for this recipe. No sugar or oil is used in the recipe except for greasing the bottom of the dish.

Ingredients


  • Rolled oats-2 cups

  • Baking powder – 1 tsp.

  • Salt -1/4

  • Cinnamon powder-1tsp.

  • Banana (medium size)- 3

  • Skimmed milk- 1 ½ cup

  • Egg white-2

  • Vanilla essence-1tsp.

  • Almonds (chopped)-15

  • Raisins – ¼ cup

  • Pear or apple chopped- 1(small)

Method


  • Pre-heat oven at 180 degrees Celsius.

  • In a bowl mix all the dry ingredients (oats, baking powder, salt and cinnamon powder) well.

  • In another bowl mash a banana with a fork or a mixer well, add milk, egg white and vanilla.

  • Add oats mixture into this and then add almonds, raisins and chopped pear or apple and mix well.

  • Grease an 8 x 8-inch square pan and cut the remaining bananas horizontally into 16 each and arrange one of it to the bottom of the pan.

  • Pour the oats mixture and arrange the remaining banana pieces on the top.

  • Bake it in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.

  • Take it out and when it cools down cut it into four and serve it.
