Healthy easy Sauteed cabbage


As the name indicates this is a healthy dish which can be used as a filling to wrap a phulka/chappathy or as a side dish for brown rice. A generous filling of this in a phulka with a bowl of salad can be used for lunch.

Ingredients



  • Cabbage (shredded)- 3cups

  • Onion thinely sliced-1 cup

  • Green chilies (slit)-2

  • Capsicum julienne-1/2 cup

  • Balsamic vinegar -1tbsp.

  • Pepper powder-1/4 tsp.

  • Ginger julienne-2tsp.

  • Garlic julienne-1tsp.

  • Curry leaves -a sprig

  • Olive oil-2tsp.

  • Salt to taste

Method


  • Marinate the shredded cabbage with balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper powder.

  • Heat oil in a skillet and add the onions, curry leaves, ginger and garlic one by one. Stir till the onion start to change its color (do not have to make it brown).

  • Add the cabbage along with the  capsicum and stir well on a high flame for 2 to 3 minutes until the cabbage gets a little soft but still crunchy.

  • Serve with rice or use as a filling for wraps.
