Hummus

A very easy and tasty middle eastern dip which is great with pita bread or spread for sandwiches

Ingredients



·         Chick peas-150gm

·         Garlic-1 clove

·         Tahini paste (sesame seed paste)-1tbsp

·         Olive oil-2tbsp

·         Lemon juice 2tbsp 

·         Salt to taste

·         Chilly powder1/4tsp

Method

·         Wash and soak the chick peas overnight. 

·         Pressure cook it for30 minutes

·         When it is cold enough put it in a blender in batches and grind to a fine paste( add garlic in the final batch)

·         Now transfer it to a food processor  and add lemon juice one table spoon of olive oil and tahini paste and enough salt and blend it in a medium speed for a minute

·         Now transfer it to a serving bowl and pour the rest of the olive oil on top and sprinkle the chilly powder on top 

·         Garnish with olives.

  

Note: You can use canned chick peas instead of dried ones ,if you want to make it instantly.
The time given for pressure cooking is after putting the weight , when the steam comes out from the vent.
