Egg shahshuka is a Tunisian Arabic poached egg dish. Usually taken as a breakfast dish along with bread.
Ingredients
- Oil-1 tbsp.
- Onion finely chopped-1 (medium)
- Garlic minced-1/2 pod
- Bell pepperchopped-1
- Tomatoes chopped-2(medium)
- Chili powder-1 tsp
- Ground cumin-1 tsp
- Garam masala powder-1 1/2 tsp
- Chili flakes to taste
- Ground black pepper-1/2tsp
- Eggs-3
- Fresh parsley/cilantro for garnish
- Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat .Add onion and cook for 5 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Then add in the bell pepper and wait till it softens.
- Add in the tomato and all the masalas and let it reduce for 5-7 min.
- Make little openings in the mixture for the egg and crack in the egg and cover and cook until eggs are done.
